Sports Psychology

The mind needs training too.

Mental preparation as deliberate as physical preparation: the invisible half of performance.

Ask athletes, coaches or parents how much of performance depends on the mind and most answer "over 70%". Yet while physical training happens almost every day, very few athletes follow a planned, systematic mental preparation.

Sports psychology is the science of improving athletes' and coaches' performance. It looks at thoughts, emotions and behaviour, and uses mental training techniques to develop performance. Through skills such as motivation, stress and anxiety management, concentration, goal setting and confidence, it helps athletes and teams reach their potential.

Who I work with

Not only athletes: I also work with coaches, clubs and families. Within the limits of confidentiality, I collaborate with the athlete's environment so their needs are met.

How I help athletes

Nerves before a big game, losing focus, team communication, training motivation, pressure in key moments… Using mental skills such as imagery, relaxation, breathing and positive self-talk, I help athletes handle these challenges and reach the performance they aim for.

No problem needed

Sports psychology is not only for when something goes wrong. Working on mental skills while things are going well, with peak performance as the goal, is one of the smartest ways to prepare.

I speak the language of the field
